General information Reveal

Sabre’s Electronic Trading Unit is responsible for the development, testing and maintenance of new and existing Sabre products that are distributed to software houses. These responsibilities include:

  • Activation and maintenance of software house facilities for new and existing agents.
  • Premium and terms testing of all software house systems.
  • Liaison with all software houses.

If you have any suggestions on ways we could improve the functionality provided by a Sabre product on a quotation system, please let us know. Please email the Electronic Trading Department.

Submission of Business

Please use your EDI capability whenever possible. Unless an unavoidable situation arises such as a power failure Sabre will not accept manual business from agents with full cycle EDI capability.

Frequency of Transmission

All new business, mid term adjustments, cancellations, renewals and lapses must be transmitted daily as insurers need to adhere to strict timescales for data transmission in order to comply with MIIC requirements.

Documentation

All new business proposal forms, copies of original quotations, cover notes, if issued, NCB proof, copy driving licences and any other relevant documentation must be retained for audit purposes for a minimum of two years after a policy has been cancelled/lapsed. The use of optical disk or other storage media is usually acceptable but prior agreement must be sought before any documentation is destroyed.

All documentation must be readily available for inspection at any time.

Authorisation codes

If you require an authorisation code for any form of override please contact the Underwriting Department.

NCB Proof

If you need proof of no claims bonus please call 0330 024 4696 and then choose option 5 for ‘Underwriting’, followed by option 3 for ‘Proof of No Claims Bonus’.  You will then be able to leave a voicemail message and the no claims bonus proof will be sent out the next working day.

Renewal Premium

- If the renewal date is outside of 30 days no renewal notice will have been issued yet as Sabre send these out 30 days in advance.

- If you have checked whether the EDI renewal invitation has been received and it hasn’t yet arrived (and the renewal date is within 30 days) then you will need to contact the underwriting team at Sabre.

- If you have received manual renewal papers, this is to notify you that we are inviting the renewal, but to accept the premium you will need to re-broke back to Sabre as new business.

Renewal Exception Report

This report should be checked on your software system on a daily basis.  It will list any policies where your system cannot load the electronic renewal invite, the policy details with the reason for rejection will be shown on this report.  Please email or fax a copy of this report to Electronic Trading who will investigate and resend the invite if necessary.

Vehicles

Sabre is a non standard insurer and we will offer cover on a range of various types of vehicle, including cars, vans, pick ups and taxis.  We will not accept kit cars, minibuses, drop side lorries, coaches, caravans or motor homes.

We would also look to cover modified or imported vehicles, however if it will not quote on your system then you will need to contact the underwriting department.

Temporary Additional Vehicles

If your software system allows temporary adjustments, the charges will be generated pro-rata with a fixed minimum amount of premium. Please process the adjustment via EDI.

For any other systems please contact the Sabre underwriting department if cover is required for a Temporary Additional Vehicle.

Temporary Substitution Vehicles are not available.

Temporary Additional Drivers

If your software system allows temporary adjustments, the charges will be generated pro-rata with a fixed minimum amount of premium. Please process the adjustment via EDI.
